It is OUR TEAM that makes all the difference.

We believe the primary purpose of insurance is to provide protection and peace of mind for yourself, your family members and your employees. With over 30 years of experience, we have seen the market fluctuate and change and we continue to educate ourselves and update our systems to best support our clients. Many insurance brokers do not keep current on health insurance legislation for small employers and individuals because it is not a focus of their firms, at State Street Insurance, we are a local firm specifically expert at the ever changing world of benefits. We don’t try to add in cars, homes and property insurance instead we focus on the very complicated parts of the health insurance and life insurance world. We also do this from a local office that focuses on our community.
We enjoy working with employers and also their employees directly to take the mystery out of their benefits and solve problems as they arise. Please let us know how we can help you in any way with Company Benefits, Medicare, Individual Health Insurance, Dental and Vision plans.

My industry found me as a UCSB student casting about for a future in psychology and research. In 1988, I began working for a large local agency while completing my degree and discovered that working with clients to demystify and assist with insurance was the “helping” career I was after. My happiest day is when a client comes in confused and leaves with a new understanding and confidence about their insurance, and often even a smile.
After 10 years, I took the grand leap and began my own firm. I am sincerely grateful for those first group and individual clients, most of whom are still with us today.
I love our town, watching my boys turn to men, my bubbly buddies and eccentric family, each and every dog, the Channel Islands, independent movies, jazz, Ancient History, and exploring new places. I’m trying to love low salt food and exercise, wish me luck!

After growing up in the rural pacific northwest, I moved to Santa Barbara post college, chasing love and new adventures. I joined Diana Lewallen Ord at State Street Insurance in 2009 and we became quick friends and a dynamic insurance team. Our philosophy of focusing on service and taking care of our clients like family aligned magically. This allowed our business to grow and the addition of two other fabulous agents, Kellie Wolfe and Mary Brown.
My fast-paced work life mirrors my home life with my husband Chris who’s a math teacher at Santa Barbara High School, and two sons: Ryder and Nico. I also have a furry son named Bowie who is a rescue Siberian Husky. I am a proud member of the La Boheme Professional Dance Group in Santa Barbara which means I’m dancing and parading at most community events. This Taekwondo black belt also enjoys workout cults, yoga, hiking, vinyl records, stinky cheese, and traveling to seeing this beautiful world we live in.

To successfully climb to Mount Everest even the most experience climbers will hire a local guide or ‘Sherpa’ to help increase their chances of success. I can relate to this need as a health insurance agent as navigating the marketplace alone can feel like you are stuck on the side of a cold and treacherous mountain pass with nowhere to go. Helping our clients find good, affordable coverage is the best thing about being a life and health insurance agent. At State Street Insurance I specialize in employer group, Medicare and Individual Health benefits and look forward to being your guide.
When I am not guiding our clients, I am home with my family in beautiful Carpinteria. My husband, Peter, is a director of a local non-profit and the father to our three children Clay, Valerie, and Kaiju (aka our pit bull baby). Whenever we have the chance my family and I are in the outdoors enjoying the beautiful California Coastline and other state/national parks. Taking in and experiencing beauty of nature is my favorite past time not mater if that is hiking, biking, walking, camping or forest bathing. My favorite place to camp is Joshua tree national park.

Mary Brown
After growing up in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley I was ready for some city living and moved to San Diego with my husband. We spent 6 years in San Diego where I worked in a veterinary hospital loving on adorable animals all day long. Family brought us back to Santa Barbara and I started my insurance agent journey here at State Street Insurance. I truly enjoy assisting individuals and family’s enrollment onto Covered California or other private plans. I am also our resident millennial tech wizard here at the office.
When I am not working, I am a full time dance and hockey mom for my energetic children, Milo and Nora. During my free time I enjoy listening to audiobooks or grabbing coffee with friends at a locally owned coffee shop.
